Biggest cruise ship to date calls in at Eyemouth
More than 230 cruise ship passengers arrived in Eyemouth on Friday morning and took in a selection of local attractions.
The Silver Cloud, the biggest cruise ship to visit Eyemouth to date, anchored offshore with passengers brought ashore onsmall zodiaks (RIBs).
Some stayed in the town, while others went to St Abbs Head Nature Reserve, Abbotsford House, Floors Castle or kayaking in Eyemouth Bay.
While there are no further bookings at present, Eyemouth Harbour Trust are working with cruise agents to attract more to the area.
The ship visited as part of a Round Britain trip operated by Silversea Cruises.
Several major cruise ship tour companies are also being lined up to bring tourists to Berwick.
Harbour commissioners at Tweed Dock are hoping to welcome the first cruise ship passengers next year.
A landing pontoon to receive passengers arriving by tender from ships moored in Berwick Bay is in place.
