Berwick Wheelers to stage Reivers Road Race
The first big weekend of the year is fast approaching for Berwick Wheelers. The Reivers Road Race is on Saturday (March 19), and starts from Etal village at 11am.
An 80-rider field is assembled from clubs throughout the North East of England and South of Scotland, and as the second race in the East and Central Scotland series, there will be a leader’s jersey worn by the series’ current points leader.
The course, as usual, will very much find the strongest rider on the day, with rolling roads, three climbs of Ford Bank and a tough last few miles up to the finish near Hay Farm.
Many club members are creating the volunteer team on the day, and this will be backed up by Scottish Cycling commissaries and motorbike outriders to ensure a safe passage for all the riders.
Headquarters are at Etal Village Hall and there will be refreshments available after the race.
Feel free to support the riders on the day with excellent viewing up Ford Bank and also round at West Allerdean crossroads and Etal village.
Simpsons Malt has given the club huge support to enable them to purchase new signage, safety markings and information and Marshall bibs.
