Berwick stages third Literary Festival
Bigger and better sums up the programme for Berwick's third Literary Festival this month.
Outstanding speakers, including the author of a book looking into the mind of killer Raoul Moat, who died at Rothbury, and the memoirs of Chris Mullen, former MP for Sunderland, and other well known writers and poets will be present.
The range of activities continues to widen and work will also be aimed at enabling the use and enjoyment of words as in the future more and more will read from screens.
The theme for this year’s festival is Living on the Edge and hospitals and homes will be visited by steering committee members as the event tries to embrace the whole community.
A cheque to boost funds was handed over to Canon Smith by Rotary Club president Peter Walton.
