Sukup Europe, formerly trading as Dan-Corn, supplies, maintains and refurbishes equipment for silos, elevators, and other associated equipment.

JH Wood will be responsible for carrying out Sukup Europe’s work across both sides of the border which will include general works, demolition, refurbishment of associated equipment, installation commissioning, mechanical strip downs, refurbishment of conveyors and refurbishment of motor and drive mills.

Neil Baker, area sales manager for Sukup Europe, said: “It is hugely important to have representation for Sukup Europe across this part of the UK, as it is such an important arable farming and malting producing area. In working with JH Wood, farmers across the area will have very easy access to our equipment, parts and spares over the crucial harvest period. In addition, they will provide support and advice on repairs, refurbishment and new installations.”

All Sukup Europe dryers are gas fired, which is not only highly efficient, but with food regulations at all levels getting much tighter, this will be the way forward for any company involved in food production processes at any level.

Matthew Rawlings, of JH Wood, who has more than 30 years’ experience, said: “Sukup Europe is a globally renowned brand and we are delighted to be able to work with them to support our many customers.

“We are already working on our first project dealing with all the fabrication work on an installation at Letham Hill. This is the installation of three 250-tonne heavy-duty hopper bottom silos for A & G Warcup on the Ford and Etal estate.”

As harvest is an extremely busy, and often stressful, time of year for farmers, JH Wood will once again be offering special seasonal support in the form of its ‘Harvest Helpline’.

Wherever possible, engineers will provide immediate help with any urgent repairs both on and off-site, and store opening hours will be longer. For urgent out of hours harvesting repairs and spares, please contact 07714 781452.

Established more than 75 years ago, J H Wood’s engineering expertise ranges from complex, bespoke fabrication and precision-machined parts, to onsite repairs and component replacement, for all types of plant, machinery and structural steelwork.

The company is also the largest stockist of engineering parts and supplies in the region.
