Berwick engineering firm appoints trade store manager
Berwick engineers, JH Wood, has appointed Sharon Cook as trade store manager.
Bringing with her more than 25 years’ experience within the industry, Sharon’s aim is to expand and further develop the trade counter within the JH Wood premises, on the East Ord Trading Estate.
The trade counter at JH Wood, which has recently expanded its floor space, offers a huge range of parts, components, and tools. It also stocks a large range of grain dryer parts and machinery paints, and it has recently introduced a sourcing service.
Sharon’s wealth of industry knowledge in stores management and purchasing stems from years of experience gained in working for companies such as Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI), SembCorp Utilities UK Limited, Sabre Rail Services Ltd and, more recently, Farne & Salmon Ltd.
She said: “I am delighted to take up the role of trade store manager at JH Wood and very excited to move the business forward.
“We have recently expanded our opening hours to include Saturday mornings, and we are operating a 24-hour sourcing and turn-round service for items not physically in stock.
“JH Wood are looking to the future, however we must remember that this is a company with a long history, and as such we have a fantastic range of vintage stock including ximperial nuts, bolts, fittings and taps, with some pre-dating to 1952. Whatever you might want, please ask as it is more likely, whether it be welding rods or electric pumps and motors, we have it.”
Matthew Rawlings, business development manager at JH Wood, added: “With Sharon’s range of experience in industrial store environments, and her skills and knowledge, I know that she will continue to build on our focus and drive the company to its full potential.”
The store also now opens on Saturday mornings.
