Berwick Civic Society remembers
The Berwick Civic Society, with the support of English Heritage, held a Remembrance service on Friday, followed by a two-minute silence at the Main Guard.
Pupils from Longridge Towers School also attended the event.
On behalf of the Berwick Civic Society, chairman Zoreen Lady Hill, thanked Rev John Vilaseca who conducted the service, Canon Christopher Smith, Peter Walton (Secretary of KOSB Association), piper Andrew Smith (formerly KOSB), cornet player William Allis (Longridge Towers School), Paul Marshall (Berwick Group Scout Leader) who attended and offered the assistance of the Scouts, along with Anne Forbes and Elizabeth Bruin of the Cubs and Beavers, who laid out the display of 651 crosses and poppies to commemorate the fallen men from Berwick, Tweedmouth and Spittal on this 100th year of the Armistice which endedthe First World War.
