Berwick Children's Centre is praised by Ofsted
Berwick Children's Centre, which offers services including full day care and early education for young children, has achieved an impressive '˜good' rating following a recent daycare Ofsted inspection.
The centre received the rating across all four Ofsted categories: Effective leadership and management; quality of teaching, learning and assessment; personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for children.
Vanessa Easton, early help locality manager (North), said: “Our whole ethos is about putting the children first. We strive to provide the best possible environment for the children to grow, develop and learn in and I am so pleased this was picked up by the inspectors. I am extremely proud of this really sound inspection report and would like to thank everyone at the centre for their hard work and dedication.”

Also singled out for praise was the emphasis on health and wellbeing, including how the children learn about healthy eating and taking regular physical exercise.
Coun Wayne Daley, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “I am really proud that the centre is being recognised for the brilliant work it does in supporting children and families in the community. A very special thanks must go to the dedicated and professional team at Berwick who work so closely with the children and families in the local community.”
The 54-place nursery at Ladywell Place is run by Northumberland County Council.
