BARK has a great fund-raising day at Ayton Castle

A huge thank you to Richard Syred and Brian Parsons, owners of Ayton Castle, for a fantastic day on Sunday filled with music, food and the most spectacular tour of the castle.

At the time of writing we haven’t tallied up the donations, but the buckets are certainly heavy.

Ayton Castle has three ex-BARK cats, with Billie living in the castle – one very lucky cat.

We have lots and lots of cats in, from young to not so young.

Ginger and Whiskey are two 10-year-olds. Whiskey does have some problems with her back legs, but now she has lost a bit of weight and is on regular painkillers she is much happier and more active.

Ginger has just discovered the cat flap and loves being outside and watching the coming and goings in the rabbit runs, and even enjoyed having a little chat with Murray the puppy.

Daisy is a one-year-old tabby looking for a quieter home, while Lucy is an eight-year-old Bengal, who would appreciate an understanding owner that will enjoy her line in chat.

We were joined last week by adorable Chillie, an unusual tan-coloured greyhound. He is a super boy who walks well on a lead, after the initial excitement. He loves to play and in our enclosed area is excellent at coming back if you show him a lead. He appears to be a good boy, with the most enormous, and painful, tail. Have you got room for this large 11-month-old?

We still have some rabbits looking for homes, including fluffy Cottontail, who is very pretty, and we have found him to be very friendly. Shadow is not so friendly, but does enjoy being out and about with her feet firmly on the ground. We are also expecting quite a lot of guinea pigs this week.

Please keep a check on our website at www.b-a-r-k.co.uk for updated details on all our animals looking for homes.

We are getting prepared for our Dog Show and Fun Day on Sunday, August 28. Would you be interested in having a stall? Please email us at [email protected] or ring the kennels on 01289 306299.
