BARK gets funds from calendar proceeds
A calendar featuring dogs rescued by Northumberland County Council's animal welfare team and partner charities has raised over £1,000 which will be divided up between four animal charities.
The cost of producing the calendar was funded by the fines collected for dog fouling offences in Northumberland and the £1,047 proceeds from the sale of the calendar will now be split equally between The Dogs Trust, Shak, Alexa’s Animals and Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels (BARK).
Jan Ross from BARK said: “We work very closely throughout the year with the council’s animal welfare team who bring many rescue cases to us for recovery, recuperation and rehoming as well as dogs waiting to be reunited with their owners. Raising funding to enable us to carry out our valuable work is an ongoing challenge for us and we are very grateful for this donation. ”

Coun Glen Sanderson, cabinet member for environment and local services, added: “The council produces this calendar each year and it’s a great way for us and members of the public to support the local animal charities we work closely with and help them fund their fantastic work.”
