BARK delighted with response to plea for tombola prizes
Thank you to everyone who has responded to our request for tombola prizes.
We have had a great response and, as you know, we’ll always appreciate more. The tombola at our dog show on August 28 is shaping up to be fantastic.
We are also having a tombola at the Etal Flower Show the following weekend so your support, as always, is very much appreciated.
Our shop is very busy with lots of great bargains to be had. Do pop in and while you’re there and have a good look at the shop windows.
The girls there are working hard to make the window attractive and inviting.
This week is Olympic week. Do tell us what you think and whether you have any ideas for a theme or two. Our shop has a Facebook page – Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels Shop. Photos of some of the items in the shop are posted up on a regular basis so do keep an eye out.
The reason behind all our fund-raising efforts and running our shop is to help the animals in our care. Your support is much appreciated, whether through supporting these efforts or by taking one of our beautiful animals.
This week we’ve been joined by petite Luna, an all black, young cat. She is barely past kittenhood and has already had a litter of kittens. She is very sweet and loving.
As mentioned last week we were expecting some guineas. There were nine in total, including four boys, who can be rehomed in pairs. We also have four girls and a baby. Due to the nature in which they were living, these girls will be with us while we establish if any of them are having pups. Guinea pregnancies last nine-plus weeks so we could be in for a bit of a wait.
Although it is not nice to have animals with us for any length of time, it does come with plus points.
Whiskey and Ginger came in February. Whiskey had a lot of trouble with her back legs and rarely moved. With a bit of weight loss and some pain medication, she is now running around and has just started jumping up a height.
