Bandits make a marquee signing
Berwick Speedway have a new team sponsor for 2016 after joining forces with local firm Olympus Marquees.
The Berwick-based company are the latest organisation to get behind the club, adding to the ‘feel-good factor’ which the Bandits are benefitting from as they prepare for the new campaign, which gets underway later this month.
Promoter John Anderson has hailed the move as ‘a superb deal for both our organisations,’ and has praised team manager Scott Courtney in setting the wheels in motion.
“I want to congratulate team manager Scott Courtney, who was very much the driving force behind getting this great deal organised,” said Anderson. “Since coming on board, Scott has been brilliant in everything he’s done for our club and I believe he’ll be just as positive in his work with the Bandits’ riders, once the team takes to the track.”
Olympus Marquees are run by Joanne Cox and lifelong speedway fan Steven Farnaby, a familiar name to many as his son, Stefan, has previously raced for the club as a junior and is already a Berwick asset.

“Hopefully it is the start of a long and successful partnership.”
Berwick, who will hold their press and practice at Shielfield on Saturday, March 19, have already attracted the backing of several local businessmen as non-executive directors.
