Bandits confirm line-up for '˜Big 50'
Berwick Speedway have confirmed the line-up for the opening meeting of their 50th season next weekend.
The Bandits launch their 50th anniversary season with an individual event at Shielfield on Saturday, March 18.
The club had already previously announced that all seven riders from their 2017 starting line-up (Kevin Doolan, Lewis Bridger, Dimitri Berge, Claus Vissing, Liam Carr, Dany Gappmaier and Ryan Blacklock) would go to the tapes, along with Glasgow’s Aaron Summers, Newcastle’s Stevie Worrall and Redcar’s Jason Garrity.
Now it has been revealed the field will be completed with the inclusion of:
Edinburgh and Team USA star Ricky Wells, Peterborough’s Ulrich Ostergaard, Wolverhampton’s Adam Skornicki, Sheffield and Team Australia’s Josh Grazjoneck, and Glasgow pair Richie Worrall and James Sarjeant.
New Berwick team manager Gary Havelock said: “What better way to start the season than with a meeting that is full of riders with ambition and well known entertainers.”
Berwick supporters will get a chance to see their own team’s riders in actiion for the first time this Saturday (March 11) when the club holds its annual press and practice sessionat Shielfield.
All seven riders are expected to be on track, testing equipment ahead of the new campaign.
Entry to the press and practice evening is free of charge, and this will be followed by a social event in the Black & Gold, when fans can meet the riders. Admission for this will be £3, which is payable on the door.
