Award-winning folk star Scott Cook calls in on world tour
Acclaimed Canadian roots balladeer Scott Cook is bringing his unique musical talents to Berwick as part of a world tour.
Scott, accompanied by fellow troubadour Jez Hellard, will perform at Barrels Ale House on Wednesday.
Described as “one of Canada’s most inspiring and imaginative storytellers”, Scott has used his vast experience of more than a decade of near-incessant touring across Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia to pen straight-talking, observant verse.
His tunes weave threads of folk, roots, blues, soul and country over spacious fingerstyle guitar and clawhammer banjo arrangements.
Scott’s fourth album One More Time Around was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award, and the opening track, Pass It Along, won the Folk and Acoustic category in the 2013 UK Songwriting Contest.
He is currently touring the world for his fifth album, Scott Cook and the Long Weekends Go Long.
The Berwick gig runs from 8pm to 10.30pm.
