ARMISTICE 100: Vigil held at Berwick Parish Church

A vigil service was held on the eve of the centenary of the First World War Armistice in Berwick Parish Church led by Vicar Dennis Handley.

The sermon was delivered by Curate John Vilaseca.

Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Northumberland and MP were piped to their seats on the Northumbrian Pipes played by Lt Colonel Tom Fairfax, President of North. Northumberland Branch Royal British Legion.

Wreaths were laid by representatives of the 25 northern parishes, The Lament played on the bagpipes by Keith Montgomery and Last Post sounded by Glenn Hogg.

The vigil was kept until midnight.
