Appeal made after injured otter spotted

An appeal has been made for help after an otter with a mystery object stuck on its tail was spotted in the River Tweed at Berwick.

This picture, which appears to show a band digging into the animal’s fur, was taken by local resident Jim Keen near the Old Bridge two weeks ago.

Berwick Swan and Wildlife Trust do not have the equipment to trap it.

Anyone who sees the otter is asked to call the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) and report its position on 0300-1234999.
