Andrew, who curls out of the Border Ice Rink at Kelso, landed his record-breaking success in the finals at Dumfries last weekend.

The team, skippered by Alan MacDougall, also includes Andrew Woolston, Tom Jaeggi and Ben Fowler, and for all but Fowler it was their seventh win in a row.

“We won five of our six round-robin games to qualify for the final on the Sunday,” said Reed.

“The only game we lost was to Team Dunn, but we easily beat them 8-0 in the final to take the gold medals.”

In all, it was Reed’s 12th national title as he has also enjoyed success with the mixed team in the past.

The victory now means Reed and his team-mates go forward to again represent England in the European Curling Championships, which this year will be held at the rink next to the Braehead shopping centre in Glasgow at the end of November.
