Brought to you by the Berwick Advertiser team.

Ambassadors will help visitors to the town access the information they require to get the most out of their visit.

The aim is to maximise visitor spend and boost the local economy by encouraging longer stays and repeat visits, enhance visitor experiences and to extend the current visitor season.

The scheme was launched at the Berwick Tourism Conference held at Berwick Holiday Park on Monday.

Jenna Shields, project officer, said: “The general consensus we were getting is that people thought there was nothing to do in Berwick or they didn’t know what was on offer.

“The main thing behind the ambassador scheme is for us to educate local tourism providers who are enthusiastic about Berwick to make people’s holiday that bit better.”

Ambassadors will raise awareness of local attractions and also direct visitors to an improved Visit Berwick website where potential itineraries are outlined.
