When she arrived, Abbi had no one her own age to fight so she was moved up into an age bracket above her normal category – Teen 2 u50KG.

This was to be yet another challenge for Abbi, who over the past year has won a range of titles, including those at British, European and World Championship level.

But she took it all in her stride, as always, and stepped onto the mat and acted like a pro. She dominated the fight from start to finish, ending it quickly by submission with another armbar maneouvre..

This meant Abbi, (pictured right), who remains unbeaten in all competitions to date, took home another gold medal, making her the Blackpool BJJ Open Champion for the second time.
