A reminder of love for town
I would like to thank the kindness of the strangers who helped me and called for assistance when I had an accident in Marygate on the evening of February 19.
I lost my balance and went to the ground, unable to get back up.
A few people had gathered round and called for assistance, which consisted of a police officer, who returned to my nearby hotel and collected my personal belongings, and an ambulance crew, who helped me up and into the ambulance.
I was diagnosed with a fractured ankle and spent a few weeks in the new hospital in Cramlington and the Gateshead QE Hospital.
I am back on my feet, limping, but far better than I was on that night.
If it wasn’t for the actions of complete strangers, I have no idea what would have happened to me.
It just reminds me of how much I love that town.
