A good home makes all the difference
This week we took in two lovely 10-month-old border collies, Jess and Misty.
Sadly, these two have had very little interaction outside their home and are both very timid.
As yet they have not walked out on leads, but they are bonding well with kennel staff and are enjoying being off the lead in our exercise area.
We aren’t taking any enquiries on these two just yet, but we do look forward to seeing them progress.
Cedric and Trisha are five-year-old brother and sister cats looking for a home together.
Cedric is a big ginger boy, who is a big softy once he gets to know you. Trisha is a smaller girl, and a very pretty cat.
Do you live in a rural location and are perhaps looking for a good mouser? Liza is a pretty tabby girl who is looking for a rural home where she can live outside.
She will come for food, but otherwise wants to keep herself to herself. She has been spayed and is microchipped.
A secure barn to allow her to become accustomed to her new home, as well as regular feeding, will reap huge rewards
Next Sunday, August 28, is our 10th Annual Dog Show and Fun Day.
It is once again being held at Castle Hills Farm, Castle Terrace.
We will have a variety of stalls, including Direct Pets, which is this year’s sponsor of the Dog Show, Bibi’s Barkery selling homemade treats for dogs, handmade gifts and more.
We are also being joined by the Berwick Swan and Wildlife Trust, as well as the PDSA.
There will be lots of games, including a giant tombola.
We have 12 classes in our Fun Dog Show, including Best Rescue.
There will also be a Rescue Parade, showing what a difference the right home makes to a pet and how lucky anyone who has a rescue animal is.
We always look forward to seeing lots of ex-BARKers and, of course, their owners.
All dogs are welcome and it will be a great day out for all the family to enjoy.
