Plan lodged to convert Northumberland pub into flats

The Harrow Inn, in Tweedmouth, has been closed since January 2019.

An application to take it into residential use has been lodged by Guy Renner-Thompson of Lyham Developments.

A report accompanying the application states: “The applicant owns The Harrow Inn public house, Tweedmouth and is keen to bring forward opportunities that will help bring the building back into use.

“The building is in the main structurally sound but tired looking. Like many formerly brewery owned public houses, the property has suffered from a lack of maintenance in recent years which has led to an influx of damp. This which will lead to structural problems if not promptly remedied.

“The proposal is to convert the pub and owner’s accommodation into residential units. Three, three bed units and one, two bed unit creating four units in total.”
