Rotary plans a party for a worthy cause
A bank holiday weekend of entertainment has been lined up by Berwick Rotary Club, all while raising vital funds for charity.
A series of events will be held on The Parade to highlight the best in young performance talent, established bands and, for those looking for more sedate entertainment, there’s even a gentle Sunday party planned too.
The event starts on Saturday with an open mic event for people to showcase their talents. A craft market will take place in an adjacent marquee.
On Saturday evening, the talent stage switches its attention to local bands who will donate their time to raise awareness and funds for mental health charities. Bands playing are Hardly Original, The Band with No Name, Mark Reid’s Band, Mark Dickenson and Kirsty Jamieson

The mood and tone changes once again on the Sunday when the whole area becomes a giant fete with a refreshment tent, bar, quieter music, stalls, a children’s entertainer, tombola and more. In the evening, local churches will be holding a Hymns on The Parade event.
Berwick Rotary member Bryon Longbone said: “This event is a great example of what we do for the benefit of our local community. We’ve tried to include something for everyone and I’d urge families to pop down to see us and have a great time as well as helping to raise funds for charities.”
