Craig and Jim Rowan recently held a sportsman dinner at Berwick Rugby Club which was sponsored by Clear Energy Consulting.

The fund-raising event was attended by 140 gentlemen. The sportsman dinner also had plenty of raffle prizes up for grabs, which included a signed Scotland rugby shirt, vouchers, football tickets and the chance to take an Audi R8 for a spin.

Craig presented a cheque to St Oswald’s to thank the staff and volunteers for the care and support given to mum Dorothy during her stay on the adult inpatient unit at St Oswald’s Hospice in 2017.

He explained: “We held a sportsman dinner back in 2017 in aid of St Oswald’s and it was a huge success, raising £2,500.

“I decided to hold another dinner to raise more money in aid of St Oswald’s due to the magnificent care that St Oswald’s offered to our mum whilst she was a patient in the hospice between 2016 and 2017.

“One of my focuses was to make the people in Berwick aware of the fantastic work that St Oswald’s does.

“The sportsman dinner was a tremendous event and it was enjoyed by all the attendees.”

Campbell Rodgerson, director of Clear Energy Consulting, added: “I attended the sportsman dinner which Craig organised back in 2017 and it was a great day.

“This year, Clear Energy Consulting was proud to be the sponsor of the dinner. Clear Energy Consulting is located very close by to the hospice in Gosforth and we thought it was a great opportunity to be a part of this event and raise as much awareness as possible for St Oswald’s.

“The sportsman dinner was a great afternoon and I was lucky enough to win the Audi R8 prize, which I am very much looking forward to.”

All St Oswald’s services to patients and families are provided free of charge, ensuring care is available to all. To find out more about St Oswald’s Hospice and its services, please visit
