The refit of the former Spar shop on Main Street, which saw a staircase repositioned and the layout completely transformed, has created a store that is 30% bigger creating a more modern convenience shopping experience.

Local businessman Kash Nijjar, who bought it last August, said: “Having lived in Berwick for more than 25 years, when the store became available to buy, we knew it was opportunity not to be missed.

"It’s taken a lot of planning and hard work to create the new-look Costcutter store and we really hope our shoppers love it as much as we do.”

The store now provides local shoppers with a range of fresh foods, frozen produce and meals, an extensive range of beers, wines and spirits, plus over 500 Co-op Own Brand products.
