Hour-by-hour weather forecast for Northumberland as temperatures plummet ahead of lockdown easing
Met Office forecasters have predicted temperatures as low as 2C across the North East region today – Sunday, April 11 – following windy and frosty conditions earlier this week.
Sunday looks set to be bright but chilly, with wintry showers expected throughout the morning. Some places across the region may have woken up to snow.

Hide AdThe latest Met Office forecast said: “A cold and frosty start.
"Bright throughout the day, but wintry showers initially near coasts developing inland to affect much of the region through the morning, perhaps heavy at times with temporary accumulations on hills. Chilly throughout.”
Temperatures in Northumberland are expected to drop overnight with a frosty morning in store on Monday, April 12.
The Met Office added: “Tonight will see showers easing through the evening with clear skies allowing temperatures to fall sharply. A widespread frost developing across the region overnight. Minimum Temperature -3 °C.”
