It was all part of a charity collection organised by Alnwick Round Table who asked residents of Alnwick, Felton, West Thirston and Newton on the Moor to clear out their cupboards and donate unwanted items to three good causes.
The collection was in aid of Alnwick Lions Club, Alnwick District Food Bank and the NHS.

They collected 36 trolleys of books, DVDs and jigsaws for Alnwick Lions Club, 17 trolleys of non-perishable food and toiletries for Alnwick District Food Bank and a trolley of scrubs bags, hand creams and ear savers for the NHS.
Social distancing guidelines were observed throughout.
Olly Brown, chairman of Alnwick Round Table, said: “We came up with the idea of Clean Out Your Cupboards based on the success of similar events with other Round Tables across the UK.
“We are amazed by how well received the idea was from the local area, where we managed to collect an overwhelming amount to support Alnwick Lions, Alnwick District Food Bank, Local NHS and Carers, so a huge thank you to the local community for donating so much!

“We have had to utilise the key principles of Round Table by adopting, adapting and improving how we operate in the current pandemic, where we are unfortunately cancelling or postponing our events such as the duck race and beer festival, so we are exploring other avenues.
