Project organiser Jill Clark said: “The appearance of the Covid virus meant we were unable to collect presents as we had done in previous years and this seemed a good way to help those families who were struggling to buy presents for their children."The project was a huge success, and we collected vouchers worth over £2,000.
The vouchers were for a variety of national stores, and many of the smaller Alnwick businesses also donated vouchers for their own shops.
"We also received a few actual gifts which were distributed and some donations which we used to buy extra gift vouchers,” said Jill.

Alnwick Rotary Club would like to thank all those individuals and businesses who so kindly, and generously, supported it in providing help to those who needed it.
Over 60 local families (160+ children) received at least one voucher per child plus one extra per family.
“Local people have once again surpassed themselves and I would like them to know just how much we appreciate their support,” said Jill.
