£5 million project to upgrade sewer network in Rothbury begins
Northumbrian Water is making the valuable investment in area in order to protect the environment and future-proof the sewerage provision for local residents.
The large-scale investment scheme, that kicked off last Monday, is expected to take 14 months to complete, and will include the construction of two new flow tanks and the refurbishment of the inlet works.

Hide AdA new sludge tank, will also be among the list of refurbishments being made to the site.
Wagtail Road and Mill Lane will remain open to the public throughout the construction works.
The work will be carried out by Northumbrian Water’s construction partners at Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB).
Ian Davison, project manager, said: “This large investment will mean that our assets will be future-proofed for our customers. This is also a great way to protect the environment.”
