Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage to come forward.
It is believed a 17-year-old boy was assaulted outside the Hirst Welfare Centre, Alexander Road, Ashington, on January 29, between the hours of 12.50pm and 1.40pm.

Hide AdNorthumbria Police has confirmed the boy suffered a split lip and bruises in the attack.
PC Beverley Keenleyside, who is investigating the incident, said: “The boy was left shaken and in need of medical assistance.
“We are appealing for anyone with information or CCTV footage to get in touch.
“Your information, no matter how insignificant you feel it may be, could provide the crucial missing link to this investigation.”
