Scaffolder jailed for EIGHT YEARS for rape which left his victim 'broken'

Jason Henderson's victim said what happened to her has had a catastrophic affect on the rest of her life and ‘it never goes away’.
Newcastle Crown Court was told that Henderson denied the offence when initially questioned by police and the case was dropped.

Hide AdBut the court heard proceedings were later resurrected and the 32-year-old attacker, of Borrowdale Avenue, Blyth, has now been found guilty by a jury of rape of a child.
The victim said in an impact statement that she still suffers nightmares about what happened to her.
She added: "I am left with this for my whole life and it never goes away. Nothing can undo what he did.
"He has broken me."
The woman said knowing that her attacker has been sent to prison does not make her feel any better and added: "I am also serving a sentence, except mine is for life."

Hide AdJudge Julie Clemitson sentenced Henderson to eight years behind bars and said he must register as a sex offender for life.
The judge said it was clear the attack had a "substantial impact" on the victim.
The court heard Henderson, who has no relevant convictions and has a partner and children with another baby on the way, continues to deny he committed the offence.
He handed in character references to the court.
Jessica Slaughter, defending, said: "He is a man completely at odds with this offence."
