Man accused of Northumberland stab attack is remanded in custody

John Lundy, 41, of Windsor Gardens, Alnwick, is charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after an incident in the town on June 16.
Emergency services, which included an air ambulance, rushed to Lion Bridge, near Alnwick Castle, just before 7pm after reports that a man had been attacked.

Hide AdThe injured man was taken by road ambulance to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary.
Northumbria Police later said the 48-year-old man suffered “serious but not life threatening injuries” and described his condition as stable.
Lundy, who was charged and appeared before magistrates on June 18, was again remanded in custody after he appeared at Newcastle Crown Court last week.
A pre-trial hearing takes place on Friday, September 4, with a trial provisionally due to begin on Monday, October 26.
