The Whittling House in Alnmouth opened last autumn but its doors have been mostly shut since then due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is hoping to welcome customers back with the planned reopening of indoor hospitality on May 17 but, before then, chefs have put together a tempting @Home option for those wishing to sidestep cooking duties and opt for some delicious treats in the comfort of their own home – or indeed to enjoy in the sunshine on the beautiful coast.

The menu also offers a selection of hot and cold sandwiches, snacks, starters, a children’s menu and gorgeous desserts to enjoy, giving people the opportunity to sample some of The Whittling House’s locally sourced dishes before it reopens.
The click and collect service is running from Thursday to Sunday, 12pm-8pm. Takeaway orders can be made 30 minutes before collection or a time slot can be chosen via www.thewhittlinghouse.co.uk.
The Whittling House is a joint project between renowned North East chef and restaurant owner, Richard Sim, who runs the popular Michelin Guide-featured Potted Lobster in Bamburgh, and Kelso-based entrepreneur, Tom Leslie.
