Holy Island is set to feature in BBC TV documentary
Villages by the Sea, a series looking at coastal villages that have often been on the front line of history, will be shown on BBC1 North East & Cumbria on Monday, at 7.30pm.
It was scheduled for this week but has been put back due to the General Election.

Hide AdFilming took place in July and included a visit to Lowick and Holy Island C of E First Schools where children had a chance to show off their history knowledge, including the shocking Viking raid of 793AD.
They filmed children discussing whether the Vikings were strangers or previously known to the Islanders.
They also re-created a Viking raid run up the beach, with pupils waving shields and axes in the air. It was all a good learning experience with the children patiently waiting for different camera angle shots to be taken.
