Double success for young engineers from Northumberland primary school
The 12-strong group of Year 6 pupils split up into two teams to compete against 10 other schools from across the North East.
They took part in an engineering task in the morning, building a bridge structure from basic equipment.

Hide AdIn the afternoon the children had to design and carry out an investigation involving water filtration. Throughout the day the teams were judged on ideas and team work.
Headteacher Belinda Athey said: “We were over the moon to find that we not only won first place, but were also the runners up too!”
Class 3 pupils attended a Rotary Lectures for Christmas event based at Arcinova in Alnwick where extreme athlete and adventurer Ash Dykes gave a fantastic talk all about the life lessons he has learned through his adventures around the world.
