Careers advice available to Northumberland students following 'curve ball' thrown by virus

Whether you are considering further education, apprenticeships, traineeships or joining the armed forces there are multiple options out there.
Cath McEvoy-Carr, executive director for adult and children’s services at Northumberland County Council, said: “Young people across the county may not have been able to take their exams as they had prepared for, but they will still be receiving their results in August and will be considering their options for their future. They don’t need to wait until they get their results, they can start discussing their options now with our dedicated team.”

Hide AdThe service can also offer advice and guidance to those aged 16 - 18 who are currently unemployed.
Coun Wayne Daley, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “We’ve hit a curve ball this year with Covid-19, but that does not mean someone's future career path should be hindered.
“Apprenticeships and traineeships are a great starting point for anyone looking to get into work, find a trade or learn new skills, but if that isn’t for you the choice offered through colleges nowadays could also offer you the focus you need in finding your future career. I strongly urge you to get in contact with the team no matter what situation you find yourself in.”
