There is an opportunity to explore the coast around Cocklawburn in the company of geologist Dr Ian Kille on Wednesday, August 28 at 2pm.
In the latest in a series of walks in the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that explore different facets of the landscape, Ian will look at sea-urchins and the consequences of head-on continental collision.
Ian said: “One of the wonderful things about geology is that it gives an opportunity to look at the small and beautiful as well as the vast and awesome features of the world we live on. Both the exquisite fossil sea-lilies and the huge masses of crumpled rock have fascinating stories to tell us”.
There is no need to book. Meet at the car park on the coast side of the road on Cocklawburn Beach above Near Skerrs.
