JASON Manford is the latest big-name comedy star on his way to Berwick.
The popular northern comic has been confirmed for thee warm-up performances at The Maltings in May before his main UK tour.
He first appeared in Berwick over three years ago but since then has appeared on and presented numerous TV shows such as ‘Comedy Rocks’ and ‘Show Me The Funny’ and played to packed arenas all over the country.
Manford was most recently seen in London’s West End in the highly-acclaimed musical adaptation of ‘Sweeney Todd’, but said he couldn’t wait to get back to what he’s best known for.
He saidd: “Some of you might think I’ve had a career change what with all the opera and musical theatre I’ve been doing lately. Not a chance, I’m excited to be getting back to what I really love the most – stand up!”
His shows in Berwick on May 23, 24 and 25 will act as a warm up for his nationwide tour and mark the comedian’s fourth visit to the town, having played three sell out shows previously.
The Maltings head of marketing & film programming, Tamiko Mackie, said: “Needless to say, we are over the moon that Jason is returning to Berwick for the fourth time in as many years. Even better, it’s for three shows at the weekend.
