Children’s author and illustrator Tim Hopgood is to visit Ellingham First School on Tuesday as part of the Northern Children’s Book Festival.
He will be talking about his books, telling stories and making pictures, and encouraging children to take part in a group art activity.
Councillor Val Tyler, policy board member for community infrastructure and culture, said: “A lot of hard work has gone into making this year’s book festival the best yet for all our children.”
A gala day on Saturday, November 23 at Woodhorn Museum, near Ashington, is the climax of the two week festival and is free to children and parents.
This will include appearances by some of the biggest names in children’s publishing, including Berwick’s own Mick Manning and Brita Granstrom.
Other attractions include art and craft activities, drop-in storytelling sessions and face painting.
