Against the wind in the second half it looked as if all Wooler’s good work was going to be undone when they conceded two penalties in a ten minute spell, which enabled the home side to get back to 3-2. However, Wooler managed to hold out for a welcome three points which puts them 11th in the table on 19 points.
On Saturday Wooler are away to bottom of the table Red House Farm.
North Sunderland went down to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of league leaders Ponteland United Reserves. The defeat leaves the Seahouses side fifth in the table on 28 points - on Saturday they are away to Gosforth Bohemiens Reserves.
