Northern Alliance: Wooler crash out of Amateur Cup

Blyth Isobella 3, Wooler 0

Wooler crashed out of the Amateur Cup in this clash against fellow Northern Alliance second division opposition.

Forced to make several changes in personnel and formation due to illness and injuries Wooler struggled to retain possession in midfield and for long periods were forced to defend. Woolers best moves involved Lee Redpath and James Scott, but scoring opportunities were few and far between.

Despite the pressure imposed by the opposition the Wooler defence held strong until the last 15 minutes of the game but when Blyth finally made the breakthrough the Wooler resistance crumbled and they conceded a further two late goals.

Best for Wooler in a generally disappointing performance were Scott and Redpath.
