Bandits keep reduced ticket prices for new season

BERWICK Bandits are sticking with reduced admission prices for next season in a bid to boost attendances, with children allowed in for free when accompanied by an adult.

Club officials say they have been listening to supporters and want to provide value for money at Shielfield in 2013.

Admission prices were cut midway through 2012 and will be kept at £12 for adults and £10 for concessions for the new campaign.

Season tickets have been priced at £160 for adults and £132 for senior citizens.

Director John Anderson explained: “We have been active in encouraging a new audience as well as trying to attract former supporters who may have drifted away from the sport. We have decreased admission prices - and next year I can reveal that the admission prices will be just £12 for adults, £10 for concessions and kids will be absolutely FREE when accompanied by a supervising adult.”

George Hepburn added: “We recognise the hardship so many people in the country have faced in the past 12 months, and with an economy recovery not expected in the near future we want to ensure that speedway at Berwick can be marketed as a fun night out for the family.

“We have set our season tickets – covering all regular Premier League fixtures – at a superb bargain price of just £160, with a senior citizen price of £132, and we will also be selling advance tickets in books of five and 10 so that they may be given as gifts, and used by groups of visitors.”

George Fairgrieve said: “We are taking a positive attitude. We are a family-run club with good ethics and want to put on a good entertaining show on a Saturday night that can be enjoyed by all the family.

“We listen to what our supporters want and try to give value-for-money entertainment and make no mistake - we are intent on running successfully in 2013.

“We are reaching out to everyone in the area, remembering the Bandits have on average the highest attendance of any spectator sport between Edinburgh and Newcastle, asking that they help this club not only to survive, but to prosper.”
