BERWICK Rangers goalkeeper Gary O'Connor's testimonial against Celtic will take place on Sunday, July 27.
The former Hearts, Doncaster, Partick Thistle, Cowdenbeath and East Fife stopper will line up with several others from the 2007 Berwick Rangers Championship winning side.
It is unclear how strong a side Celtic will bring but O'Connor, a life long C
eltic fan, will be hoping The Hoops sent down a strong team to Shielfield Park. A testimonial dinner to signal the end of O'Connor's 15 year career is also due to take place on Friday, October 10 at Berwick Rugby Club.
Tickets for the Celtic game will be priced at £5 for adults and £2 for under 16s. The game kicks off at 2pm.
With the new season now less than a month away, Berwick's players and supporters will be raring for some competitive action.
Their first game is a friendly against Airdrie United next Saturday but assistant manager Martin Mooney said he had not watched enough Third Division football in recent years to know what standard the other teams shall be.
"I can't wait for the new season to begin," said Mooney.
"There is already a bond starting between the players at training. We have had 16 or 17 there with three not there.
"We had one or two friendlies against league teams like Alloa and Stirling while we were at Camelon but it is hard to tell how we will do. I don't think there is a huge difference from the top of the Superleague."
