ACTIVE Berwick are launching a new sports initiative, which is aimed at young people.
Entitled Sports Unlimited, the basic aim is to provide an innovative new youth sports programme which cascades funding to local communities via the county sports partnerships network.
It is targeted at youngsters who may have some interest in sport, but aren't particularly engaged with community or club sport.
Its age target is 11 to 19 year-olds, and organisers say they are hopeful youngsters will sign up to the programme, and thereafter join local clubs.
Gareth Hill of Active Berwick said: "We have a host of new programs starting in Berwick after the Easter Holidays and we are looking to get them out to the age groups in the borough."
Gymnast Craig Heap, who won two Commonwealth gold medals for England, was at Berwick High School on Thursday to help Active Berwick promote their Sport Unlimited indoor rowing programme.
