BERWICK UNITED ..............3
BERWICK got back into action and picked up three welcome points with a win at Peterlee on Saturday.
The victory, their fourth in the
league this season, lifted them to 12th in the table, although they are eight points adrift of the team in eleventh.
Berwick dominated the first half and they might have scored before Robinson put them in front from a Walker cross on the right.
Robinson then turned provider with a cross from the left for Walker to finish in copycat style.
At the start of the second half Peterlee looked more competitive and the Berwick back four had to be on their toes.
United then scored against the run of play when Robinson and Wood set up Walker for his second, and Robinson also might have scored but he tripped at the vital moment.
Peterlee pulled one back from a free kick on the edge of the box with five minutes remaining, and this was no more than they deserved for the effort they put in.
This weekend Berwick are home South Shields United in the second round of the Combination Cup.

TWEEDMOUTH AMS...........3
GORDON took the silverware in the Wright Cup final at Gavinton on Saturday in a ten-goal thriller, but they did it the hard way, forcing extra time and heartbreak for Tweedmouth.
With just 15 minutes of the original 90 left Tweedmouth were 3-1 up and probably planning their post-match celebration.
Tweedmouth opened the scoring when the Gordon defence were sleeping, Colqhoun found the net after being put through by Robertson. Next Patterson got up well to head the ball goalwards, only to hit the post. Robertson shot just wide as Tweedmouth took the game to Gordon.
Paulson tipped a Gordon shot over in the Tweedmouth goal but that's about as near as the Berwickshire side went until they were awarded a penalty for hand ball, the ball striking Bain on the arm, and Gordon took the opportunity to level the scores before the interval.
Gordon were again under the cosh in the second half, with the Tweedmouth boys piling on the pressure, and they got their reward when Patterson scored Tweedmouth's second with a well placed shot into the corner of the net.
The same player then had another two great chances, twice going one-on-one with the Gordon keeper, but fortunately for the Berwickshire side he squandered the chance both times before making amends, scoring his second goal and Tweedmouth's third after beating a Gordon defender to put his side 3-1 up and well in control.
Tweedmouth heads were up and they kept coming, hitting the bar once and having a good shot well saved.
The Berwick side may have been thinking about the post-match celebrations, when Gordon finally got their act together with just 15 minutes left on the clock.
Tweedmouth sat back, reverting to long balls which Gordon soon sent back at them, putting them under pressure.
Gordon scored their second with ten minutes remaining, Craig Livingston firing an unstoppable shot from way out into the back of the net.
This lifted Gordon and they equalised with a tap in with just five minutes of normal time remaining - much to Tweedmouth's horror and disbelief.
Tweedmouth heads dropped and Gordon's were well and truly up for the first time in the game after securing a further 30 minutes.
Gordon were now eyeing the prize and turned round for extra time on top, scoring two goals in quick succession to finish their opponents off. They went on to score another one in the first period of extra time, and incredibly found the back of the net for a seventh time in the latter period to take the Wright Cup back to Gordon.
TWEEDMOUTH COLTS ......2
LINTON HOTSPUR ..............3
AFTER a three week lay-off, Colts were back in action and were anxious to make a strong start.
Reid and Dodd both went close and Colquhoun hit the bar before Linton also hit the woodwork.
The first half was goalless, but Hotspur took an early lead in the second half from a corner.
Colts hit back when Reid was sent clear and he converted from a one on one with the goalkeeper.
A solo effort by the Linton right winger saw the visitors again in front, but Reid scored again, this time from a corner.
Colquhoun was denied with a fine double save from the keeper, and this proved to be decisive as Linton scored the winner with four minutes remaining.
