ON Sunday (December 14) 60 gymnasts performed a spectacular Christmas show at the Swan Centre for Leisure.
The gymnastics disciplines demonstrated included beam, asymmetric bars, sports acrobatics and tumbling.
The tumbling displays combined gymnasts from both Berwick and Biddick (Washington) Gymnastics Clubs and were performed on a 25 metre inflatable 'Air Track' on loan from Biddick.
Funds raised during the event, and recently from local sponsors, are being ring fenced to purchase an 'Air Track' for the club.
Berwick Gymnastics Club also received a 'GymMark' (the British Gymnastics Quality Assurance Award) from Katie Lawton, the Regional Development Officer for British Gymnastics.
This prestigious award is given in recognition of a gymnastics club that is safe, effective, child friendly and adheres to an extensive range of quality assured policies and procedures that are assessed every 12 months.
