A FORMER British squad member is hoping to get the people of Northumberland and the Borders on their feet for his new Tae Kwon Do classes.
Tae Kwon Do translates as 'hand to foot method' and two time national champion William Mickleburgh is hoping that locals will be wanting to find out more and come along to the first session in Coldstream Community Centre on Tuesday September 9. The class will run from 6.30-7.30pm and if plenty of people come along William plans to set up Coldstream Tae Kwon Do Academy. He is also holding another class at Glendale Hall, Wooler on Wednesday September 10 at the same time as Tuesday's lesson.
William said that as well as being great run, Tae Kwon Do has many benefits.
"I'd really like to get a club set up in the area as Tae Kwon Do is a terrific sport. It's a great form of exercise and a really good way to socialise. It helps to raise people's self confidence and self belief and has been proven to raise academic ability as it improves focus."
For further information on the Tae Kwon Do classes contact William on 07812173226.
