After a week of sunny weather and high temperatures, the North East is set for thunderstorms – with Met Office forecasters issuing a yellow weather warning.
Temperatures are expected to remain around the mid-teens so there is a good chance of humidity expected.

3pm to 7pm: Met Office forecasters are predicting thunderstorms to begin at around 4pm and are set to last into the early evening. Temperatures will rise to 16°C.
8pm to 9pm: Thunderstorms are set to pass by 8pm, however forecasters are predicting a hail shower, 15°C.
9pm to 11pm: Rain is expected to ease off however the weather will remain overcast, temperatures will be around 14°C.
