Plans are being drawn up to create murals in the ginnel between the Market Place and Fenkle Street.
“We feel it really lets Alnwick down, especially as it’s a main thoroughfare,” said Amanda Wooldridge at The Alnwick Gallery.

"Alnwick had a phenomenal run from July to September after lockdown ended and I do think that has really put it on the map, but little things like this sometimes get missed.”
Planning permission would be required because it is a listed building but she has had ‘promising’ preliminary discussions with the relevant authorities.
With a view to it getting the green light, she has teamed up with Clarty Commandos to put on a children’s art workshop with artist Naomi Walker.

"In the longer term we would like to get local schools involved and look to change the murals every six months or so.
"Clarty Commandos is a great place for children to create stuff and doing art workshops in that environment should be good fun.”
The Alnwick branch of MKM has already agreed to provide materials.
