"We have always wanted to strike the balance between being a farm shop with a wide range of seasonal, local and homemade produce, whilst ensuring we are still a village shop, selling everyday essentials and newspapers.
"We want people to be able to get everything they need from us, year round. We have also retained the post office as it is such a vital part of Embleton.
The store is offering homemade sandwiches, sausage rolls, pastries, cakes and quiches from its new deli counter, alongside an array of locally produced food and drink, including cheese, jams, chutneys, meats and bread. They are also getting daily deliveries of fresh fruit and veg. Local ales and spirits are available and they have expanded their selection of wine.
The shop is also looking to operate in the most sustainable way possible, trying to reduce plastic packaging and waste.
The Front Street store is open 8am-5pm 7 days a week.
