Alnwick-born babies presented with commemorative plates
The tradition of plates being presented to the first baby born in the maternity unit that year had to be delayed due to Covid restrictions.
With the 2020 event having been cancelled, it meant there were two plates to present outside Alnwick Castle on Thursday.

Hide AdThe Duchess of Northumberland, president of the League of Friends of Alnwick Hospital, was on hand to do the honours.
The plates carry a suitable inscription showing details baby's date born, weight, and time.
This year’s recipient was Felix Douglas, born on January 4, 2021. He is pictured with his mum, Harriet.
Last year’s recipient was Isaac Hedley, born at Hillcrest on January 11, 2020. He is seen with his parents Natalie and David.

Hide AdThey were joined by Alison Jarvis from Hillcrest Maternity Unit and members of the League of Friends for the presentation.
The League of Friends of the Alnwick Hospital is a registered charity and was officially formed in 1956.
It has raised thousands of pounds over the years and donated a host of items and equipment, from memory books to an ECG machine.
